      John Paul (J.P.) Hartman, 27, of Kermit, TX departed this life on Tuesday, June 15, 2004.  He was born to Arnold Roy Hartman and Marci Ann (Valerio) Bliss on Monday, August 9, 1976, in El Paso, TX.  He married Heather Crambell on August 31, 2002.  He worked in the oilfield as a roughneck.

      J.P. is survived by his wife, Heather Hartman and three sons; Lee Hartman, Christian Hartman, and Zachary Hartman, all of Kermit.  Survivors also include his mother: Marci Bliss and husband, Jimmy, of Kermit, his father: Arnold Roy Hartman of Alaska, and his step -father: Lee Partain of Kermit.  Surviving grandparents are Joe and Maria Valerio of El Paso, TX, Ruby Bliss of Kermit, Andy and Betty Partain of Kermit, and Doug and Martha Ford of New Jersey.  His brother, Jason Bliss, of Kermit and two sisters, Angel Partain of Kermit and Melissa Roberts of Snyder, TX survive him as well. In addition, J.P. leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.


      Funeral service was held at First United Methodist Church of Kermit on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dudley Mullins officiating.  Pallbearers were: Jimmy Zipfel, Justin Bradford, James McNutt, Shawn Turner, Jason Bliss, Mark Coleman, Tim Ramsey and Tommy Salazar.
