      Mr. J.E. Boney, aged 85, passed away at his home near Marietta about 8:30 p.m. March 27. Mr. Boney had suffered a severe stroke of paralysis and had been bedfast for six years.
      Funeral Services were held at the Union Hill Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, with the Rev. O.L. Kennedy, Rev. John Bells and Rev. Garrett officiating. Burial was in the Union Hill cemetery under the direction of Hanner-Caver Funeral Home.
      Mr. Boney was born at Forrest City, Ark., on July 10, 1870. He came to East Texas when he was just a small boy and became a well known farmer in this area. He was married to Miss Sallie Jane Stewart of Linden Sept. 6, 1891. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
      Mr. Boney is survived by his wife and their seven children. L.H. Boney and Willie Boney, Marietta. R.M. Boney, Linden, Mrs. W.J. Cox, Linden, Mrs. A.L. Glass, Hughes Springs, Mrs. F.G. Williams and Mrs. R.G. Griffin, Atlanta.
      He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and one brother, R.F. Boney, Densison.
      The pallbearers were his grandsons. The honorary pallbearers were his friends and neighbors.
