She graduated from Cotton Center High School in 1937 and attended McMurry College in Abilene for one year during the depression. In 1943, she married the late Jack Marion who was serving in the Marines. While he was overseas, she moved to Dallas to work as an airplane draftsman for military airplane parts built by North American in Dallas and Consolidated in Ft. Worth. In 1945, she returned to Lubbock where she and Jack bought their first and only house in 1950 where she lived for 63 years until she could no longer live by herself. She then moved to Dallas to be near two of her children. She was a faithful member of Forrest Heights United Methodist Church since 1952 where she made many wonderful friends. Her home, lawn, and flowers were her passion. She enjoyed quilting and met weekly with church members to quilt and donated proceeds from their quilting to charitable causes. She and her sisters Katherine and Bettie spent much time together playing Scrabble and traveling. She received her most enjoyment from time spent with her family. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Bob and Gloria Marion of Dallas, Dan and Donna Marion of St. Louis, and Jim and Louise Marion of Dallas. She was especially proud of her four grandchildren, Daniel Marion, MD, of St. Louis, Lindsay Marion of St. Louis, Justin Marion, PhD of Santa Cruz, CA, and Whitney Klenzendorf and husband Brandon of Austin.
