      Eleanor Brothers Smyth, 81, of Olton, died Monday, March 11, 2013, in Olton.

      Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Larry Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

      Eleanor was born June 24, 1931 in Denton to Charles and Edna Wilkinson Brothers. She graduated from North Texas Demonstration School and attended North Texas State. On November 2, 1951, she married Aubrey Frank Smyth in Denton. She moved to the Olton area in 1955 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Eleanor was very active in the church. She was a longtime sunday school teacher, active in United Methodist Women, and a member of the Advance sunday school class. She served on the Olton Library board of directors and was a talented seamstress and excellent cook.

      She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Katherine Chandler.

      Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Frank Smyth of Olton; two sons, Paul Smyth and his wife, Kay of Olton and David Smyth and his wife, Alisse of Olton; three daughters, Sarah Widdifield and her husband, Larry of Denver, Martha Smyth Allcorn and her husband, Kyle of Olton, and Mary Lee Brooks and her husband, Sterling of Winters; and one sister, Marilyn McDaniel and her husband, Gene of Statesville, N.C. Eleanor was blessed with eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
