      Mrs Elizabeth Givens Upton was born Oct 3, 1911 and raised in the Medon, Tennessee community. Her parents were the late James Robert and Viola (Ola) Belle Haskins Upton.

      She retired in 1985 as Medon's Postmaster, after having served in this position since January 7,1942. She succeeded her father, James Robert Givens, who was the Postmaster from 1920 until December 1941.

      She is survived by her spouse Frank Oakley Upton of Medon, Tennessee whom she married Feb 18, 1988 in Madison County, Tennessee. Mrs Upton said she wanted to be buried as "Mrs Frank Upton" so they were married just prior to her death. It was the first marriage for each of them.

      Mrs Upton is buried in Hill Cemetery in the Madison Hall Community of Madison County, Tennessee along with her parents. Mr Upton is buried in Clover Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Medon, Tennessee next to his parents.
