      Mr. Thomas Mitchell Mayo, age 71 of Conyers, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, David M. and Jean Mayo and brother, Paul Kenneth Mayo. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Florette Mayo; sons and daughters-in-law, David T. and Stacey Mayo, Lee M. and Susan Mayo; grandchildren, Terrell Atkins, Joshua Mayo, David J. Mayo, Alexis Mayo, Ashlee Mayo, Donna Mayo, Emilee Mayo; great-grandchildren, Aerial, Xander, Kayla; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Nancy Mayo, Bob and Kathleen Mayo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Mayo is retired from General Motors. He served in the United States Air Force. He was an avid coin collector and liked researching genealogy. Thomas enjoyed traveling by train. He loved his family and pets and will be missed. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. James Albright officiating; interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington. Family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
