      Winnie Lucille (Monroe) Ford

      Winnie Lucille Monroe Ford, 89, she passed quietly from this life Friday, May 25, 2012. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday 2:00 pm at Lawn Church of Christ with burial in McBee cemetery, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation from 3:00 to 5:00 pm will held Sunday May 27, 2012 at the funeral home.

      Lucille was born June 18, 1922, during a tornado at Oplin, Texas, to Sebe and Mattie McKinley Monroe. Lucille attended school at Rogers and graduated from Oplin High School. She attended Draughons Business College.

      Lucille married the love of her life, Harold Ford in 1941.

      Lucille's work experience included Woolworth, Farmers Grocery, Lawn City Secretary, and Income Tax Accounting for over 50 years. Farming and ranching were always an active part of her life. Being a member and officer of the Taylor County Farm Bureau was an important part of her life. The Rural Taylor County Aging Service for senior citizens program was a high priority to Lucille, serving as site leader and county board of directors for many years. Lucille was a 4-H Club leader for her children and many others. For the past 22 years, Lucille was the secretary-treasurer for the McBee Cemetery Association. Lawn Church of Christ was Lucille's Church home for 65 years. Serving and loving God, community and family were her life's story.

      Lucille is survived by her son, Randy Ford (and wife Beverly) of Frisco; daughter, Carolyn Atkins (and husband Chris) of Lawn; grandchildren Stacy Atkins, Jennifer (Miles) Willis, John (Teresa) Atkins, David Ford, Daniel Ford, and Aaron (Whitney) Appleby; great-grandchildren, Conner, Malia, & Maeson Willis, Hailey and Mattie Atkins; brother S.D. Monroe (and wife Goldie) of Abilene; and niece Debbie (Steve) Alexander of Granbury.

      Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ford, her parents Sebe & Mattie Monroe, sister Etna Monroe Carr, brothers Alton and Clifford Monroe.
