  Obituary   Danny West, 59, of Trent, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Hendrick Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel with Pastor Ollie Wilburn of Sweetwater officiating, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the First United Methodist Church in Trent, 226 North Mesquite Street. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street. Danny was born June 5 , 1954 to Bobbie and Joyce (Judy) West in Abilene Texas. He graduated from Merkel High School in 1972. After graduation, Danny worked in the oil field until taking a job at Abilene State School in 1992. Danny worked in resident care and was loved by all he worked with. Danny is survived by his wife Patricia Ann ( P.A.) of Trent; four children, Daniel of Merkel; Krystal Woolard and husband Kelly of Merkel; and Talon (17), and Rock (10) of the home; Mother Joyce (Judy) West of Sweetwater and 4 siblings, Steven of New Orleans, David of Roscoe, Stanley of Abilene, and Sherrie Parks and husband Cal of Sweetwater. Danny is preceded in death by his Father, Bobbie West who died in 1989. Memorials may be made to The Abilene State School and First United Methodist of Trent.
