      Charlie Fincher
      August 12, 1933 - October 31, 2016

      Charlie was born August 12, 1933 in Tulia to Arb and Julia Fincher. He grew up in Adrian until age 10, when the family moved to Amarillo. He married Melba Williams on December 22, 1951 at Buchanan St. Baptist Church in Amarillo. Charlie went to work for Colorado Interstate Gas Co. in 1955, and worked there for 39 years, until his retirement in 1995. He and Melba enjoyed square dancing as a hobby in years past. Charlie enjoyed following the sporting events of all his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He attended Trinity Baptist Church.

      Survivors include his wife, Melba Fincher; one daughter, Beverley Newman and husband Tommy of Amarillo; three sons, Jimmy Fincher and wife Sally, Johnny Fincher, and Jesse Fincher and wife Karlyn, all of Amarillo; one brother, AB Fincher of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virgie Pickens.

      The family requests memorial donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church Mission Fund, 1601 I-40 West Frontage Rd, Amarillo, TX 79109.
