      Clive Eugene "Gene" Lyons, age 79, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at The Regional Medical Center (MED) in Memphis, Tennessee.

      Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July 8, 2012 at The First United Pentecostal Church in Grenada, Mississippi, with visitation being held prior to the service from 1-3 p.m.

      Burial will follow the services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada. Garner-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

      Mr. Lyons was born on May 8, 1933 in Ecru, Mississippi to Clive Paul and Ila Mae Lyons.

      He was the founder of Dixie Auto Auction in Grenada. He spent over fifty years in the automobile business where he formed many life long friendships with dealers throughout Mississippi and the surrounding states.

      He is survived by his wife, Deanie Harrison Standrod Lyons; two daughters, Pam Moore (Kevin), and Beverly Hoop of Grenada; two step-sons, Rudy Standrod and Michael "Scooter" Standrod, also of Grenada; eight grandchildren, Patrick Lott (Julie) of Clinton, Jeffrey Ables (Summer) of Byhalia, Lauren Moore of Jackson, Mississippi, Paige Parker (Will) of Cordova, Tennessee, Emily Moore, Meredith Moore, Haley Hoop, and Peyton Hoop, all of Grenada; two step-grandchildren, Allen Harrell of Carrolton, and Kayla Standrod of Grenada; six great-grandchildren Hayden and Kash Parker of Cordova, Tennessee, Katlyn and Kacy Lott of Clinton, Andrea and Presley Ables of Byhalia; four sisters, Betty Whitten (Joe Phil) of Blue Springs, Barbara McAlpin of Germantown, Tennessee, Laura Franklin (Donald) of Pontotoc, and Nancy Phillips (Ronnie) of Tupelo; two brothers, Elbert Lyons (Mary Helen) and Delbert Lyons (Donna) of Pontotoc; and a cousin who was like a brother, Merle Hipps of Nettleton.

      He is preceded in death by his parents; a wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Ann "Dixie"; a daughter, Shirley Ables; a sister, Hazel Houston; and five brothers, Wayne, James, Clint, Clyde, and Sammy Lyons.
