  Obituary   Betty Gale Davis, age 65, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at a Dallas Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cecil Deadman officiating. Burial will follow at Palava Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 6-8 PM. Betty Gale Davis was born in Paris, Texas on November 14, 1948 to Neal and Emogene Harlan Shepherd. She went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2014. She married Truman Davis on May 25, 1968. Betty was a member of and played piano at Maryneal Baptist Church, where Truman is the current pastor. Betty is survived by her husband, Truman Davis; her mother, Emogene Shepherd; a daughter, Deni Rea; two sons, Daniel Davis and wife Wendy, and David Davis and wife Codi, all of Sweetwater, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Leslee Shaw, and husband Justin, Karah Davis, Erica Rea, J. D. Davis and wife Kenzie, Kendall Rea, Ty Davis, Devyn Davis, Kelci Davis and Alison Davis, along with five great-grandchildren, Kamree and Keylee Shaw, Brayden Davis, Trenton Dunn and Gracie Davis. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Neal Shepherd; her sister, Carolyn Shamblin; father-in-law, Clifton Davis; and mother-in-law, Mildred Davis. Pallbearers will be James E. Smith, Vern Higbee, Lance Shaw, Randall Rea, Tommy Simons and Terry Comer. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Reeves, J.D. Davis, Kendall Rea, Tylan Davis, Devyn Davis, Brayden Davis and Trenton Dunn.
