      A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at South Plains Christian Fellowship with Rev. Don Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday at Resthaven.

      Mary was born to DN and Irene Carrell on May 22, 1935, in Cooper, TX. Her family moved to Lubbock when she was 12 years old. She married the only man she ever loved, Joe Putman, on May 1, 1954, and they were blessed with four children. She was a sister in Christ at South Plains Christian Fellowship in Lubbock. She was voted Mother of the Year several years by her church and was very dedicated to her Lord and the church she served. She worked at the Lions Eye Bank at Tech for several years.

      She is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Joe; one son, Bobby and wife, Janice; three daughters, Becky Bloodworth and husband, Stan, and Benita Cantu and husband, Joe, all of Lubbock, and Beth Barina and husband, Howard, of Odessa; one brother, Bill Carrell and wife, Barbara, of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and beloved friends.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lubbock. Special thanks to Hospice, including Kathy, Barbara, and Brent.
