  Obituary Danny Carroll Anderson, 88, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Windsor Healthcare in Groesbeck. A service of remembrance will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Chaplain Jon Honea officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Hamilton-Breeman Cemetery in Retreat, Navarro County, Texas. Danny was born on August 9, 1927 west of Hubbard in Hill County and raised in Emmitt. He was the fifth child out of seven brothers and three sisters born to William “Bill” Jefferson and Sarah Ethel Carroll Anderson. He attended Frost High School, where he loved to play football. Right out of high school, he joined the United States Navy Seabee’s during World War II. After finishing his tour of duty, he returned home and enrolled in classes at Navarro College in Corsicana and continued to enjoy playing football. His college studies were cut short when one day, while sitting outside the local store, the President of Texas Power and Light offered him a job. While working with TP&L, Danny climbed the corporate ladder until retiring in 1985. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and his grandchildren. Danny met the love of his life, Maxine “Bobbie” Roman, in 1946 and the couple was married on July 2, 1947. Bobbie passed away after a long-loving life with Danny on September 2, 1982. He served as past Grand Master and was a 50 year member of the R. E. Lee Masonic Lodge #449 in Itasca. Danny was also a member of the Hillsboro Country Club. He was of the Baptist faith. Also preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Patricia Ann Anderson in 1949; five brothers; one sister; and a great-granddaughter, Lyla Oliviann Lingerfelt in 2013. Survivors include his three children, Deborah Ann Anderson-Cunningham, Beverly Spring Anderson-Ellis, and Dan Roman Anderson and wife, Darice; six grandchildren, Jennifer Spring Sheppard and husband, Craig, Dwayne Anderson Ellis and wife, Aly, Wendy Maxine Lingerfelt and husband, Will, Robert Jefferson Ellis and wife, Jenny, Justin Daniel Ellis, and Jack Daniel Anderson; eight great-grandchildren, Lawton Alexander Sheppard, Roman Kendrick Sheppard, Laney Rhea Ellis, Brooke Danielle-Rae Ellis, Jace Anderson Ellis, Olivia Lane Lingerfelt, Liam Owen Lingerfelt, and Ryan Wilson Ellis; four siblings, Peggy Jo Dollins and husband, Charles, Billy Ray Anderson and wife, Jackie, Mary Ann Weatherbee and husband, James, and Wendel Jerry Anderson; and dear friend, Lew Crow.
