      Merle Jane Thompson Anderson, 71, of Bosqueville, left this world Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Crestview Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, in Waco.

      Merle was born in Valley Mills, Texas, to the late J.I. and Talma Thompson. She and her sister, Sophie Powers, started Powers Embroidery, where she worked for over fifty years. She married the love of her life, Shorty Anderson on Feb. 10, 1968. Merle loved horses, rodeos, football, Nascar, family, and friends. Her infectious laugh brought joy to those around her. She was a member of Walter Baldwin Chapter #929 Order of the Eastern Star.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty; and five siblings.

      Survivors include daughters, Deborah Key, Cindy Foster, and Melinda Walter; stepchildren, David, Gaylon, and Belinda Mathis; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Jay Thompson; sister, Dorothy Crye; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
