  Obituary   Mrs. Gilda Christopher Hurst, 77, Gilda died of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Dugan Memorial Home, in West Point. She was born December 21, 1934 in Pheba, Mississippi to late Maggie Lou Sansing and Jabe Henry Christopher. Mrs. Hurst was a Bank Teller for BancorpSouth beginning in the late 50′s until 1996. She was a member of First Christian Church. Gilda Christopher Hurst married Harold Howard Hurst on June 23, 1951 in West Point he preceded her in death on June 17, 1996. Funeral services will be Friday, July 27, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Dr. Mims Roberts officiating, assisted by Pastor Larry Ferguson. The family will gather at the funeral home and go to the church in procession for the funeral service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her son, Dr. George "Chris" Hurst (Julie) of Collegeville, PA; two grandsons: Chris "Neil" Hurst and Zach Hurst; her sister, Jeri Whitmire (James) of West Point; her Nieces, Ann Blair (Lee), and Dawn Davidson (Dr. C. L.) and beloved grand nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Raleigh Davidson, Jarrod Blair, Rustin Lair, Sonny Jameson, Ralph Weems, and Dr. Max Davidson. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, P. O. Box 208, West Point, MS 39773 or to CurePSP.org. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
