Obituary
Ed Davis, 83, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, surrounded by his family in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Ash Creek Baptist Church. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. Memorial: Donations may be made in Ed's name to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County. Ed Davis was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Parker County, son of the late Claude Emmett and Mary Alma Garner Davis. He attended Azle High School and Brantley Draughn Business School. Ed married the former Nancy Louise Conwell on May 29, 1953, at Ash Creek Baptist Church, where they were members. He loved to read western novels, camping and taking big vacations in his motor home with his wife, Nancy. Ed honorably served his country as a U.S. Navy hospital corpsman during World War II. He was a mechanic by trade. Ed's humorous personality drew in all who met him. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters. Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Nancy Davis of Azle; children, Eddie Davis and wife, Carolyn, Darrell Davis and wife, Susan, Mike Davis and wife, Carrie, John Davis and wife, Sharon, Debbie Hall and husband, Cliff, and Donald Davis and wife, Cindy; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
