  Obituary   Mr. McConnell Mr. Plennie E. McConnell Sr., 92, of Duluth, father of P. E. McConnell, Jr., owner of Griffin Sales and Service here, died Saturday evening at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta after a length illness. Mr. McConnell was a retired lieutenant with the Atlanta Fire Department with 30 years' service.  He was a member of the Battle Hill Masonic Lodge and the Duluth Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth McConnell; daughter, Mrs. Mary Rogers of Alexandria, Va.; and two sons, P. E. McConnell Jr., of Griffin and Vasser McConnell of Dunwoody. Graveside services were this morning at 11 o'clock in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.  The Rev. Dick Baker officiated.  Nash Funeral Home of Duluth was in charge of plans.   Published in The Griffin Daily News in 1981.
