      LARD, Paulene "Polly" Rountree of Houston. Age 71. Died 12/7/1981 (Sunday) in her Houston residence after a short illness. Services held (Thursday) in Phillips & Luckey Cemetery. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, Rockdale.

      She was BORN 12/16/1909 in Rockdale to Dr./Mrs. T.D. & Nancy Wilcox Rountree. She had been a Houston resident for 45 yrs. Married Edward K. Lard in 1936 in Waco. Husband preceded her in death on 6/7/1973. She was a member of Houston's South Main Baptist Church. Attended Rockdale public schools, Ward-Bellmonth Woman's School, Southwestern Univ. and Univ. of Texas. Member of Zeta Alpha Sorority.

      SURVIVORS: 2 nephews, Moran Kuykendall of Temple and John Moehring of Charlotte, NC.; 2 nieces, Janice Kay Avery of Georgetown and Jeannie Moehring of Houston; sister, Lucy Kuykendall of The Grove.
