Obituary
Sonora resident Kenneth Arnold Smith died Sunday at a Sonora hospital. He was 79.
He was born in Detroit. He loved all sports and was an avid fisherman. He was a longtime member of the River Oaks Men's Golf Club. He worked in the canning departments at both CT Supply in Modesto and Starkist Tuna in Long Beach, where he retired in 1987. He then moved to Sonora with his wife Bobbie.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Bobbie Smith of Sonora; daughters, Gail Santana and Kelly Davis of Modesto; stepchildren, Rick Hedges of Morro Bay, Tami Riddel of Ceres and Marty Hedges of Sonora; brothers, Bryant Smith of Oklahoma, Steve Smith of Morgan Hill and Dale Smith of Alabama; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
