Obituary
Alfred Briggs Nix, 92, of Nashville, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008.
Mr. Nix was a World War II veteran and a member of the Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the American Legion and was a charter member of the Marshall County Historical Society.
Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin Nix; and brothers, Willie and Howard Nix.
He is survived by his wife, Wylene Turner Nix; daughter, Myra (David) Agee; and grandson, Austin Agee.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 29, at Woodbine Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Bill Rodman, Don Tabor and Kip Rush officiating, followed by burial in Beechwood Cemetery, Cornersville, with military honors.
The pallbearers were Bob Sullins, Monty Williams, Rodney Duncan, Fred Wilhelm, Jim Mosley, James Ray Sims, James Stewart and Charlie Floyd.
Honorary pallbearers were the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
Woodbine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
