Obituary
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 2, at 10:00 a.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele for Ms. Era Rainey Gotcher, widow of Ed Gotcher. Ms. Gotcher was born October 1, 1884, in Dyer County, Tenn., and died October 31 in Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville at the age of 88. A member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Steele, she was also a charter member of the New Survey Extension Club. She leaves two sisters, Ms. Demmie Pattee, Galveston, Tex., and Ms. Myra Haskins, Newbern, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. James F. McCrary and the Rev. A.A. Noggle officiated at the service. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Willis Kaiser, Lewis Rogers, Clark Frame, Bert Poteet, Marshall Cameron and Earl Flanagan.
