Stephen H. Oliver
STEPHEN H. OLIVER WILL BE BURIED SUNDAY
He was Resident of Pooler Forty Years.
The funeral of Stephen H. Oliver, 80, of Pooler, who died yesterday afternoon at a local hospital, will be conducted at his residence in Pooler tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. F. M. Gaines, pastor of the Epworth Methodist Church, and the Rev. Ernest Seckinger, pastor of the Pooler Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery at Pooler.
Mr. Oliver had been a resident of Pooler for about 40 years and was in the turpentine and farming business until about 25 years ago when he retired. He was prominent in civic and county affairs.
Surviving Mr. Oliver are his wife, Mrs. Cora T. Oliver of Pooler; two daughters, Mrs. Harry T. Underhill of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Robert L. Jackson of Savannah; three sons; Stephen Earl Oliver of Bradenton, Fla; George Hollis Oliver of Valdosta and Ens. William Cheves Oliver, U. S. Navy in Noroton, Conn; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Travis Holland Redman of Princeton, N. J.; Miss Anne Oliver of Keysville, Lieut. Hollis Oliver, Jr., of the Army Air Corps in England, James Oliver of Clemson College, A. S. E. R. and Robert L. Jackson, Jr., all of Savannah and a great-grandson, Travis Hollis Redman, Jr., of Princeton.
