William Cheves Oliver
William Cheves Oliver, 84, died Sunday at Candler Hospital.
He was a native of Chatham County and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Pooler, where he served on the administrative board.. He was a World War II Navy veteran, retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and a retired landscape architect. He was a former member of the Men's Garden Club of Savannah, a member of the National and International Camellia Society.
He was a camellia show judge in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. He was a charter member of the Pooler Lions Club and a past alderman of Pooler.
SURVIVORS; his wife Norma W. Oliver of Pooler; a daughter, Ann Oliver of Pooler; and a son, Stephen Oliver of Knoxville, Tenn.
VISITATION: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. today at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Drayton chapel.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
