Obituary

Shadrack E. Helmly

Shadrack Edward Helmly of Rincon died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon in a local hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Rincon, being born Apr 4, 1860 and was known as a prosperous farmer. He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, and for the last thirty-five years, had served the church as an officer. He is survived by his widow, Georgia Hinely Helmly; three sons, W. E. and E. C. Helmly of Savannah, and Rev. V. V. Helmly of Cullman, Ala; six daughters, Mrs. F. L. Ackerman, and Mrs. J. W. Kessler of Savannah; Mrs. C. D. Exley, Mrs. M. C. Exley and Mrs. A. W. Kessler of Rincon, and Mrs. Frank Wessinger of Chapin, S. C.; two brothers, J. A. and J. N. Helmly; a sister, Mrs. J. R. Waldhour of Rincon, and thirty-three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, near Rincon. Services will be conducted by Rev. L. O. Dasher, pastor of the church; Rev. H. J. Black, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and Rev. C. A. Linn, pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Fox and Weeks are in charge of the funeral plans.
