Obituary
Rincon - Waring D. Exley, 90, passed away Friday, September 3, 2004 under the care of Hospice Savannah. Born in Effingham County on July 27, 1914 he was the oldest living member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church. He retired from Savannah Machine and Foundry, was a member and past master of Springfield Masonic Lodge #440 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite-Valley of Savannah, and the Alee Temple of Savannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. Exley and Amanda Helmly Exley, and his wife, Vergie Webb Exley. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Denmond and Margy Exley of Savannah; two sisters, Willgenia Carrigg of Rincon and Lena Wendelken of Springfield and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 4 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2004 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church with Rev. Eleanor Russey officiating. Pallbearers will be Carson Carrigg, Richard Crawford, Will Wendelken, Douglas Exley, Preston Weitman, Benny Kessler and Charles Exley. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
