Angelyn A. Wendelken
SPRINGFIELD -- Angelyn Arnsdorff Wendelken, 44, died Feb. 26 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
The Effingham County native was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of Helping Hands Circle. She was a member of the choir and the praise team, the chairman of Lay Witness Mission, member of Coastal Ga. Emmaus Community and was on the Evangelism Committee. She was an educator for 24 years in Effingham County Schools and was presently the principal at Ebenezer Elementary School. She was a member of the Georgia Association for Educational Leaders, PAGE, Savannah Striders, a 4-H volunteer and member of the Farm Bureau. She ran in the Boston Marathon in 1991.
SURVIVORS: her husband, Will Wendelken of Springfield; a daughter, Lauren Wendelken of Springfield; her mother, Claudine D. Arnsdorff of Springfield; a sister, Linda A. Murray of Waynesboro; two brothers, Wendell Arnsdorff of Springfield and Ross D. Arnsdorff of Savannah; and her grandmother, Nettie Arnsdorff of Springfield.
VISITATION: 4-8 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
FUNERAL: 4 p.m. Monday at Springfield United Methodist Church, burial in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
