      J. Samuel Carrigg

      RINCON -- J. Samuel Carrigg, 74, died Feb. 8 at Hospice Savannah.

      He was a native of Effingham County and a member of Jerusalem Lutheran
      Church, American Legion Post No. 209 and Springfield Masonic Lodge No.
      440, F&AM. He retired from Union Camp after 47 years and was a Navy
      veteran of World War II.

      SURVIVORS: his wife, Willgenia E. Carrigg of Rincon; a daughter,
      Trellene Metzger of Rincon; a son, A. Carson Carrigg of Rincon; three
      grandchildren, Brian Metzger of Clyo, Tania Cole of Rincon and Blake
      Metzger of Clyo; and a number of nieces and nephews.

      VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral
      Home, Effingham Chapel.

      FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Thursday at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, burial in the
      church cemetery.
