      Obituary in The State, Columbia, SC, 11 Jun 2005: Chapin - Services for Georgia Helmly Wessinger, 97, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church Window Fund, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036. Mrs. Wessinger, widow of James F. Wessinger, Sr. died Friday, June 10, 2005. Born in Rincon, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Shadrack Edward and Georgia Hineley Helmly. She was the oldest member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, a member of the Park Zeigler Circle, former member of the church choir and the Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie W. Summer (Floyd) of Peak; sons, James F. Wessinger, Jr., (Edith) Lee H. Wessinger, and Lewis R. Wessinger (Jessica), all of Chapin; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son, Henry Edward Wessinger.
