Louise H. Newkirk
RINCON - Louise Helmly Newkirk died Dec. 31 at Effingham Extended Care Facility.
The native of Effingham County served as part-time clerk for the town of Rincon for 11 years and became deputy clerk of Superior Court in Effingham County in 1955. She retired as clerk of Superior Court.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Rincon, a life member of Georgia Salzburger Society and a past regent of Brier Creek, Daughters of the American Revolution.
SURVIVORS: two sons and three daughters-in-law, Lynward and Dorothy Paul of Prattville, Ala., Roy Newkirk Jr. and Glenda Newkirk of Rincon and Kass Paul of Lutherville, Md.; two sisters, Clyde Walcher of Rincon and Frances Gnann of Stillwell; a sister-in-law, Winifred Helmly of Savannah; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
SERVICE: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, burial in Rincon Cemetery.
