      Bruce D. Hinely - SAVANNAH - Bruce D. Hinely, age 71, of Savannah, passed away on January 13, 2009 at Memorial Health. Bruce was born in Savannah on August 23, 1937 to the late George and Bessie Lee Hinely.


      Bruce proudly served his country in the Marines, and worked for many years as a dredge boat operator for Merrit, as well as working for Diamond Construction. He was a former police officer for Port Wentworth and Savannah, and retired from Parent and Child Development of Savannah. Bruce was also a member of Riverside Baptist Church for over 20 years.


      Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Sara Hinely.


      He is survived by his son Dennis "Chief" Hinely of Savannah, daughter Sabrina Hinely Koneman of Register, grandchildren Whitney Mock of Orlando, John Koneman and Caitlyn Koneman of Register, and Dakota Litchfield of Savannah, former wife Celia Kathleen of Savannah, as well as several nieces and nephews.


      Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 15 at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday at the chapel of Fairhaven with Rev. Paul Hindman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
