Obituary
Margaret Futch Williford Brown Ow3ens was a daughter of Thurston Dupuis Futch and Elizabeth Snyder Birch Futch of Macon, GA. She was first married to Wade Hampton Williford, III; secondly to George Lionel Brown, and thirdly to Dr. M.O. Owens, Jr. of Gastonia, NC. She was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, NC, where she was a deacon and elder, a volunteer for Gaston Hospice in its formative years, and active in many groups and clubs. She most recently attended Parkwood Baptist Church with her husband and pastor, Dr. M. O. Owens, Jr. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her first two husbands, and by a brother, Thurston D. Futch, Jr. and two sisters, Betty Futch Monroe and Jean Futch. She is survived by her husband, Dr. M.O. Owens, Jr., Gastonia, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, USAF Col. Wade Hampton Williford, IV and wife, Judy, Mills River, NC; Quay Dunovant Williford, III and wife, Terry, Lake Wylie, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Williford Turner, and husband, William, of Wilmington, NC; step-daughters, Celia Owens Alexander, Suffolk, VA; Linda Owens Russ, Greer, SC; and Mary Owens Lanaster, Vass, NC; a sister, Sally Futch Woodruff, Montgomery, AL; grandchildren and spouses, Elsa Gemeinhardt and husband, USAF Maj. Chad Gemeinhardt, Washington, DC; USAF Capt. Sarah Lark and husband, Brad, Dayton, OH; Anna Leigh Williford, Charleston, SC; Caroline Birch Williford, Lake Wylie, SC; and Mary Quay Williford, Lake Wlie, SC; and by a great-granddaughter, Chloe Quay Benzi, Lake Wylie, SC. Margaret was a beautiful Christian lady on the inside and outside. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
