      Funeral Services Held July 8 For Mr. Sammons
      Funeral services for J. C. (Cleave) Sammons, age 79, were held in the Chapel of Brown Memorial Baptist Church last Thursday. Mr. Sammons died in a Milledgeville hospital Wednesday after a lengthy illness. The Rev. R. C. Smith officiated and interment was in Union Hill Cemetery.
      A native of Glascock County, Mr. Sammons was a former resident of Wrightsville. He was married to the late Miss Minnie Dixon. He was a member of Brown Memorial Baptist Church.
      Survivors include one son, L. T. Sammons of Tennille, Ga.; three brothers, J. W. and Lee Sammons, both of Savannah, Ga., and Homer of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. J. A. Jones of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
      Pallbearers were Marcus Ivey, Bud Hudson, John E. Monandingham, Roland Attaway, Carl Davis, and Lewis Duggan.
      Kent Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
