Obituary
Frederick Edwin Bowman, 88, of Runge, Texas, Died Monday, July 10, 2006, in Dallas. Gravweside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, under the direction of Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Frederick Edwin was born in Devine, Texas, to the late Fred and Myrtle (Langley) Bowman. He attended Baylor University, graduating with a BBA in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II attaining the rank of Lt Commander. He married Jeanne Mallet on June 13, 1942, in Corpus Christi. Mr. Bowman was a resident of Corpus Christi until 1972, when he retired to Kenedy, Texas. He was an independent oil operator who built a successful family-owned oil and gas business. He enjoyed ranching in Runge, fishing in Canada and everything to do with the oil and gas business.
He is preceded in death by a son, John D. Bowman.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Bowman, of Kenedy; children, Bill Bowman and Mary Campbell, of Dallas, Nancy Upton and Robert Bowman, of Kenedy, and Richard Bowman, of Houston; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Wanda Young, of Victoria; and a nephew, Douglas Speck, of Victoria.
