      Arnie N Anderson, Russell - Arnie Norman Anderson, 85, died April 23 1984 at Russell City Hospital. Born May 1 1898 at Russell, he married Marie Duke. He was a retired farm laborer, and had been a lifetime resident of Russell. He was a member of the American Legion, Russell. Survivors: wife, of the home; five stepchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 3 pm Wednesday at Russell City Cemetery, with military honors, the Rev Lonald Bridges. Friends may call Tuesday until service time at Cline Funeral Home, Russell.


      Arnie Norman Anderson, son of Christopher and Mary Elizabeth (Meharg) Anderson, was born May 1 1898 in Russell, Kansas and departed this life April 23 1984 at Russell City Hospital, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 22 days. Arnie was reared and received his education in Russell. He spent most of his life working as a farm laborer, and also was a butcher for a number of years. He served his country in both WW1 and WW2, and was a member of the Russell American Legion William Roe #99.
      In October 1983 he suffered a stroke and soon thereafter entered the Russell Care Center where he spent his remaining days until he entered the hospital Monday morning. To cherish his memory are his wife, Marie Duke Anderson, of 756 E 2nd Street, Russell; five stepchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
      Services: Graveside services conducted Wednesday, April 25 1984, at 3 pm at the Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas. Pastor Lonald Bridges Officiating. Military Honors conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post #99 of Russell. Casket Bearers - members of the American Legion. Laid to rest in Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas. Services entrusted to Cline Funeral Home, Russell, Kansas.
