      Marion B. Thorne IDALOU-Marion B. Thorne of Idalou passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at the age of 77. He was born on May 17, 1937, in Rotan, Texas, to Melvin and Wynona (Hawk) Thorne, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Darlene Tekell of Tahoka on Aug. 20, 1965, and she preceded him in death in 2002. Marion retired from Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc. as a sheet metal fabricator. He married Shirley Adkins on Nov. 12, 2005, in Lubbock. Marion loved spending time with his family; he loved dancing, fishing, and watching westerns. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Idalou where he served as a deacon, and he was a member of the Lubbock Senior Citizen Dance Club. He is also preceded in death by his father, Melvin. Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at the First Baptist Church Idalou with interment to follow in the Idalou Cemetery.
