Obituary
JUNCTION CITY - J.T. "Tom" Brice Jr. of Junction City died March 19 of age-related causes. He was 87.
Brice was born Sept. 11, 1918, in Lindsay, Okla., to John Brice Sr. and Malta Arrington Brice. He married Bessie Buckley in Los Angeles on April 19, 1942.
He attended Oklahoma University and the University of Nevada at Reno. He worked in oil fields, then helped build Liberty ships. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. After the war, Brice farmed in the Junction City area.
He enjoyed travel, helping young children learn to read and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Lions Club and served on the Lane Community College advisory committee on agricultural recordkeeping.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elizabeth Romano of Detroit, Mich.; and two sons, John III and Charles, both of Junction City. A daughter, Mary Ellen Brice, died previously.
No service is planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Eugene Mission. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
