Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Ann Duke Thompson, 69, of Gadsden, who died Sunday, May 30, 1999. Dr. James Newell will officiate. Burial in Forrest Cemetery.
Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Thompson was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a member of Gadsden First Baptist Church and was a teacher with R.A. Mitchell School, having retired with 30 years service. Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of Montevallo and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Duke; Infant son, Timothy Wayne Thompson and brother, Harry Duke.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry J. Thompson, Jr., Gadsden; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Lynne Thompson, Gadsden, David and Kim Thompson, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, Tyler, Derek, Emily and Summer Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Maxine Duke, Gadsden; uncle, Harold Frist, Gadsden and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Hall, Ray Couch, Darden Boume, Rayford Evans, Lloyd Evans, Lloyd Estes, Verbon Bynum, Frank Aderholt and Bill Fulford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Dunnington and friends of First Baptist Church of Gadsden.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
