      REIDSVILLE -- William "Bill" Nelson, 68, died Jan. 31 at Memorial Medical Center.

      He was a native of Ware County and lived in Tattnall County most of his life. He was chairman of the Board of Rotary Corp., which he purchased in 1966.

      He was a member of Reidsville United Methodist Church and as chairman of the Finance Committee. He was former chairman of the Administrative Board and the Board of Trustees and a member of the Lillian Eason Sunday School Class.

      He was a director of Glennville Bank and an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was involved in many other civic activities.

      SURVIVORS: his wife, Helen C. Nelson of Reidsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Jeannie Nelson of Glennville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tara and Don Martin and Traci and Steve Heilman, all of Reidsville; two sisters, Katherine Brown of Lyons and Beth Broome of Clovis, N.M.; his mother-in-law, Corene Cannon of Reidsville; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

      VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at McCall Funeral Home in Reidsville.

      FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Reidsville United Methodist Church.
