      Helen C. Nelson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 14, 2016 at Community Hospice surrounded by her family.

      The Tattnall County native lived the majority of her life in Reidsville. She was a homemaker that was very active in social clubs including The Rascalettes, The Reidsville Garden Club, and the Canasta Club. Additionally, she was a longtime active member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church. As time allowed, her favorite hobbies included shopping and travel. Also, she was an avid fan and supporter of Georgia Southern University. She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Clifton and Corene Sikes Cannon and her husband, William “Bill” Nelson.

      Mrs. Nelson is survived by her children Ed (Jeannie) Nelson of Glennville, Tara (Don) Martin of Reidsville, and Traci (Alex) Houston of Reidsville; grandchildren, Ashley Nelson, Laura & Will Maybin, Olivia (Josh) Powell, Austin (Lacy) Martin, Caylee (Joel) Bickmore, Tyler Martin, Avery Martin, Courtney Heilman (Hunter Beall), Landon Heilman, and Blake Heilman; great-grandchildren Annalee and Emerson Maybin, and Coleman Bickmore.

      The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2016 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory.

      Funeral Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 from the Reidsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Marc Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Martin, Tyler Martin, Blake Heilman, Landon Heilman, Lamar Smith, and Terry Carter.
