      In 1334 King Edward III granted "power to elect a "sovereign" [for the burgess of Kinsale - borough by prescription] in order to collect taxes and defend the area against its enemies or reach treaty with them. (referring mainly to Irish from the west and some English rebels).

      - 1346 - Appointed as commissioner to treat with McDermot/McCarthy


      - 1355 - Justice of the Peace (County Cork)


      - 1358 - Miles, son of Miles had license to grand property at Ringrone


      - Fought with Florence MacCarthy and followers and drove them into the Bandon river where many were drowned


      - Co-heirs were four sister (or their issue)
