  •  Notes
    • O.D. and Vonnie Coursey were married in the middle of the night (eloped) by a Justice of the Peace (J.P. R#6 J. F. Walters) in Colfax TX, witnessed by the J.P.'s wife.  Colfax TX was noted in O.D.'s obituary and would have been given as firsthand  information regarding the whereabouts of where they were married to The Monahans News (newspaper) directly by his widow, Vonnie; however, the exact location (church, etc) is not known.  O.D. and Vonnie, both living in Van Zandt County, obtained their license from the County Courthouse in Athens (Henderson County) TX.  O.D. and Vonnie spent their wedding night in Athens TX as well.  This information was provided by word of mouth from Vonnie Lee Coursey passed down to her daughter Mary Delilah Downing (Coursey).  This document is currently in the possession of Clint Coursey (grandson) and was received from the Henderson County Clerk's Office in the mail on 11/9/2015.
